Last Of the Showers, Move Clocks Forward Tonight

Some heavy rains are now to our North with sun to enjoy before clouds fill back in today. As an upper level Low moves our way from the west, look for additional showers and possible thunder to develop late this afternoon. Some small hail is possible with these as well so that will be a game changer for some locations! Clouds thin some more Sunday but most of the organized shower chances should ease as the upper level Low gradually pulls away. After we cool down some the next few days, temperatures will moderate later next week.

Forecast Discussion

Today a cold front is to our east and the heaviest rains have shifted North. Clouds linger with some occasional sun breaking through, only to fill back in as another system approaches us from the west.

A large upper level low pressure that has been sitting out in the plains all week will move into our region. Rain showers will break out on today but should be a little less frequent on Sunday. It will remain mostly cloudy and cool for the entire weekend. The upper low will move away early next week and we’ll see a slow moderation in temperatures. We will begin to see some sun, although clouds will want to hang around for a few days.

Another system to our south will have the potential to bring some light rain to our area around the middle of the work week but it does not appear to be signficant. Milder air returns for the next weekend before a strong cold front brings back more showers and storms next Sunday. Yes, the cold air hammer may pound us again after that for the last week of March.
